Pre-Christmas Fun 2010

This is Rebecca, Kirk and I at our singles ward party just weeks before Kirk's proposal to me. We had a fantastic dinner and spent the rest of the night socializing and enjoying a fire. 

2010- Our First Official Date

On our first date Kirk and I went to Benihanas for dinner. I was really cool to be able to watch them cook our food right in front of us. Kirk taught me how to use chop sticks for the first time. Kirk wore purple (my favorite color).

 After dinner we went to the Joseph Smith memorial building to walk around and take in the beautiful views.

 After that we went to see the Utah Symphony. The music was beautiful and it made it even better to enjoy it while holding hands with my sweet heart. Best first date ever-- definitely helped that it was with my best friend.

How Kirk Met Liz

In June 2010 Kirk and I met on a double date. I was with a blind date and Kirk was with my sister Rebecca. We went to subway and picked up sandwiches and took them to the park. At the park we all chit chatted while we ate. After that we took a camera and went around the park getting funny photos. Rebecca got one with a group of gangsta basketball boys. We got some with a bunch of guys playing dress up with light sabers and another group that was doing kapaweita (I have no idea how that's is spelled but you get the idea). After that we went to the dollar theater and that is where Kirk held my hand for the very first time. It was a complete joke he and Rebecca were sitting behind my date and I and I felt someone messing with my arm. I thought it was Rebecca so I grabbed onto the hand. Low and behold it was Kirk's hand instead of Rebecca's. I felt stupid but I wanted it to seem like I had done it on purpose so I kept holding it until he pulled his hand away. Ha ha who knew that it would sprout in to so much more. After the movie we took some more funny pictures and called it a night after that. Fortunately things didn't work out with my blind date and things didn't work out with Kirk and Rebecca. After that first day Kirk and I became good friends, started dating, and fell in love! (The week prior to us dating Kirk was talking with his sister on the phone and was telling her about what good friends we were becoming. When she asked if he was going to try to date me he said "no way she is way too young." Good thing I convinced him that age doesn't matter......at least not for us.) :)
